Why I Became a Teacher
I became a teacher because of the teachers that were kind to me and never gave up on me. As a student, I hated going to school. I missed a lot of school days due to being agoraphobic. A few teachers were kind to me when I needed kindness the most. I didn’t need a teacher who inspired me or taught content in an amazing way. I needed someone who cared for me as a person. Those teachers are the teacher I strive to be today. I want all of my students to know that I will always be there for them with a smile on my face.
The Online School Experience at Rhode Island Connections Academy
Rhode Island Connections Academy helps prepare students for life after graduation because they are given a lot of independence. Aside from LiveLesson® sessions, students get to create their own schedule. They get to work on what subject they want at a time that works for them. The coursework is rigorous and will prepare students for their next level of education.
Rhode Island Connections Academy has students from across the state, which is one of the reasons I love teaching here. In a brick-and-mortar district, students come from the same geographical area. I get to teach kids from across the state and learn about their different backgrounds!
I foster student engagement in my class by constantly asking questions throughout a lesson. I want students to question what they are learning about and why they are learning it. I want them to explore the relevance of every topic they learn in my classroom.
When administration, faculty, and parents work together and communicate, outstanding results can be seen in each student.

Message for Families Considering Online School
I encourage prospective parents to get involved as they are making the decision to enroll at Rhode Island Connections Academy. Teachers do a great job communicating with parents because we want parents to be involved in their child’s education as much as possible. When administration, faculty, and parents work together and communicate, outstanding results can be seen in each student.
My Interests
I absolutely love what I do! Teaching is fun for me. My interests include watching sports, anime, and movies. I enjoy doing yoga at least five times a week. I also love dogs more than any other animal on Earth.
