Learning and Connecting Online
Pennsylvania Online Public School Curriculum
Our engaging state-aligned curriculum includes both teacher-led and self-guided lessons. By getting to know your child, we empower them to confidently take on appropriately challenging coursework—with a strong network of support at every step of their learning journey.
College and Career Preparation
Pennwood's Extended 3-Week Connections Term
All Pennwood students take part in in a three-week Connections Term (“C-Term”) in March, in addition to the standard 180 school days. With the C Term, Pennwood Cyber Charter School’s academic year begins earlier than the rest of the state and is 195 days.
This session helps build a school culture that emphasize the importance of career education and work standards. Partnering with Drexel University's Goodwin College of Professional Studies, high school students who are on track for graduation will participate in project-based learning, while students in grades K-8, will complete a career and college preparation course based on the Pennsylvania Career Education and Work Standards.

McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Improvements Act
The McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Improvements Act of 2001 ensures educational rights and protections for children, youth, and families experiencing homelessness by removing barriers to school enrollment and daily participation in school activities. Under this act, various living situations may be considered homelessness and may qualify the child, youth, or family for certain services.
