How do students learn more about career pathways and sign up for the program?

Students may contact their school counselor for more details. A school counselor can review program information and help students develop a plan for meeting program and graduation requirements. Students can then sign up for courses so they can start pursuing their career pathway and earning their Reach Pro Badge and certifications.

How do students receive Reach Pro badges and share them?

Families will receive an email, from Acclaim, notifying them to claim the badge at our partner Acclaim’s website, then follow these steps:

  1. Select the link in the email.
  2. Create an account on the Acclaim site.
  3. Claim the badge.
  4. Start sharing.

What is an open badge?

Open badges are web-enabled versions of a credential, certification, or learning outcome that can be verified in real time online.

How do students’ credentials get displayed as a badge?

We have partnered with Credly’s Acclaim platform to translate the learning outcomes students have demonstrated into a badge. The technology Acclaim uses is based on the Open Badge Standards maintained by IMS Global. This enables students to manage, share, and verify their competencies digitally.

What are the benefits of a badge?

Representing students’ skills as badges gives them a way to share their abilities online in a way that is simple, trusted, and can be easily verified in real time. Badges provide employers and peers concrete evidence of what students had to do to earn their credentials and what skills they’ve mastered. Acclaim also offers labor market insights based on the skills students have developed. They can search and apply for job opportunities through the Acclaim platform.

What is Acclaim?

Acclaim is a digital badge platform that works with credible organizations to provide digital credentials to individuals worldwide.

How will students know if they’ve earned a badge?

Families will receive an email notification from Acclaim (admin@youracclaim.com) with instructions for claiming the badge and setting up an account.

What if students don’t want their badges to be public?

Students can easily configure their privacy settings in Acclaim. They’re in complete control of what information is made public.

Is there a fee to use Acclaim?

No. Acclaim is a service provided to students at no cost.

What’s to keep someone else from copying a student’s badge and using it?

While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on the Acclaim platform. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a paper certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming a student’s credential and associated identity.

Where and how can students share their badges through Acclaim?

Students can share badges directly from the Acclaim platform to LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook; send it by email; or embed it in a website or in an email signature.

What are labor market insights, and how can students access them through Acclaim?

Labor market insights are pulled from live job requisitions. Based on the students’ skills, they can learn which employers are hiring, what job titles they might be qualified for, salary ranges, and more. They can search active job listings and even apply for them with just a few clicks through Acclaim. Accessing the labor market insights from the Badge Details page can be done by selecting Related Jobs or by choosing the skill tags assigned to the badge.

Can students export badges issued through Acclaim to other badge-storing platforms?

Yes, students can download badges from the Share Badge page. A downloaded badge contains Open Badge Infrastructure (OBI)‒compliant metadata embedded into the image. This allows students to store the badge on other OBI-compliant badge sites, such as the Mozilla backpack.

Can students import badges issued from other platforms into Acclaim?

Not at this time.

If students have questions about the Acclaim platform, where can they find support?
