Accredited Online Schools
Connections Academy® helps your child gain the skills they need to thrive and meet educational state requirements.
The Importance of Accreditation
Finding a Quality Education Experience
When it comes to choosing the right school for your student, there are a lot of factors you should consider: academic excellence, holistic support, and flexibility are just a few. Another essential factor should be accreditation.
Being able to achieve and maintain proper accreditation ensures that a school is providing a quality education that can be reciprocated with other schools. Accreditation also validates the value of our education to other accredited educational institutions.
An Education You Can Trust
What is a K-12 School Accreditation?
Simply put, educational accreditation shows that an institution meets set standards established by an independent third party. Accredited organizations serve the well-being of students and staff by meeting established, research-based standards and by continuously improving their teaching, learning, and organizational effectiveness.
By choosing an accredited online school, you’re making sure that your child is being taught by teachers and staff who are committed to ongoing excellence.
To learn more, we highly recommend taking a look at Cognia’s Accreditation and Certification page.
Accredited Online K-12 Schools
Our Accreditation
Connections Academy® is a division of Connections Education®, which is accredited by Cognia, formerly AdvancED. Cognia offers accreditation and certification, assessment, professional learning, and improvement services to institutions and other education providers. As a global nonprofit working in over 80 countries, Cognia serves 36,000 institutions, nearly 25 million students, and 5 million educators every day.
Many of the Connections Academy–supported schools are also accredited by one or more of six regional accrediting organizations for higher-education institutions, recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the United States Department of Education. New schools typically begin the accreditation process after operating for a full year.
NCAA Approved
Making Sure Students Stay NCAA Eligible
Our SACS-accredited online high schools are committed to making sure your student stays on track academically while pursuing their passions outside of the classroom. The following courses, organized by subject area, have been approved by the NCAA Eligibility Center for use towards initial eligibility when delivered by Connections Education, Connections Academy, or Pearson Virtual Schools teachers using the Pearson Online Classroom (formerly Connexus®) EMS platform. The approved content is the Connections Education version of the course.
Note that not all courses may be available at all locations, and there may be slight variations between your state’s course naming convention and the name of the course listed on the NCAA Eligibility Center High School Portal.
