Lily Berkowitz-Martinez is a middle school student at Pecos Connections Academy. She lives in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, with her family. Pecos Connections Academy’s flexible school program allows Lily to balance her passion for gymnastics while receiving a high-quality education. Lily shares her story below.
“I was very interested in enrolling at Pecos Connections Academy because their educational program allows me to continue my gymnastics schedule. I go to gymnastics class from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and then after going home, I return to gymnastics at 2:00 p.m. and stay until around 6:00 p.m. The flexibility of being able to complete my schoolwork in between gymnastics practice, and when I get home in the evening, is what works best for me in the program.
An education at Falcon View Connections Academy prepares students for a bright future because it helps them realize that learning is constant and can happen anywhere and at any time. They develop the mentality that learning is a lifelong process and that the world can be their classroom.
"I love Pecos Connections Academy because it is flexible and stress-free!"
I am very passionate about gymnastics. My goal is to get a collegiate scholarship to a Division 1 school. Pecos Connections Academy gives me a great education while allowing me to train hard in my sport. Most of my friends are also gymnasts and attend Connections Academy. I love that we are with each other all day, every day, in the gym!
Attending Pecos Connections Academy has been a lot less stressful than a traditional school for me. I really enjoy online learning because I’m able to learn at my own pace. My favorite subject is history. I like it because it is interesting. At Pecos Connections Academy, I feel like I can rely on my teachers. I think all of the teachers are really nice, supportive, and very helpful when I have questions about my classes. Whenever I have questions, I email my teachers and they respond really quickly. I also really enjoy the LiveLesson sessions! They are very helpful and I learn a lot.”
