Bachelor of Science, Secondary Math Education, University of Central Missouri; Master’s, Educational Technology, University of Central Missouri

Ashley Carter has more than 10 years of teaching experience. She joined the faculty at Missouri Connections Academy when it opened in 2020, initially as a master teacher. She then moved into her current administrative role as high school assistant principal.

Rigorous Curriculum, Personalized Education

Ms. Carter is proud of the caliber of education that Missouri Connections Academy provides its students. “Our program is pretty rigorous,” she says. But the benefits extend well beyond academic excellence. Students “learn how to take responsibility for their education,” she says, “which is a great way to prepare them for life.”

The challenging curriculum is designed to bring out the best in each student. As part of the administration, it is Ms. Carter’s responsibility to ensure that teachers provide a safe learning environment.

Missouri Connections Academy recognizes that each student is an individual, and that teachers must adapt to a wide range of unique strengths and learning styles. Ms. Carter believes that online education, with its emphasis on one-on-one teacher/student interaction, offers a far more personalized education than traditional brick-and-mortar schools.

Outside of School, She’s in School

When not attending to her many responsibilities at Missouri Connections Academy, Ms. Carter enjoys the outdoors, especially running. She also enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and traveling. But for Ms. Carter, time outside of school isn’t all about rest and relaxation. She is currently pursuing a degree In Educational Leadership at William Woods University.

We work hard to make sure… our students feel connected.
