Middle School Teacher

BA, Minnesota State University at Mankato

Ms. Lopez is a middle school advisory teacher at Minnesota Connections Academy (MNCA). She started her teaching career in 2005 and joined MNCA in 2006. Ms. Lopez holds a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University at Mankato. She shares her story below:

“When I was in elementary school, I loved my second grade teacher so much that I decided that I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up, too! I loved playing school and having my friends complete the ‘worksheets’ that I would make. I never really considered doing anything else. I have always enjoyed spending time with children, and this is something I get to do every day as a teacher. One of the things I love most about working for Connections Academy is the relationships I get to build with my students and their families. We get a lot more one-on-one time than in a traditional school, and I really get to know my students better.”
