Middle School Student
Lucas is a seventh grader at Minnesota Connections Academy. Outside of school, he enjoys anime, Japanese food, video games, board games, cooking, and spending time with family. His favorite subjects are language arts and science. Lucas's sister, Juliet, also attends Minnesota Connections Academy.
Why Lucas’s Family Chose Our School
According to Lucas’s mom, “We were looking for a way to continue learning from home while also keeping my job as a personal care attendant to someone bed-bound. Our local school phased out online learning, so we decided to try Minnesota Connections Academy.
“Lucas has always been a self-starter, so the individually paced program works really well for him. He’s able to set his own schedule and take breaks as needed. He loves the ability to work at whatever pace he needs to as well.”
The Online School Experience at Minnesota Connections Academy
According to Lucas, his favorite experience at our school so far has been “Winter Movie Day, watching Lilo & Stitch, because I was able to meet my friends for the first time in person!”
Lucas likes his teachers and says, “I know if I have a problem with school or anything I can reach out to my teachers any time.” His favorite clubs are National Junior Honor Society, The Anime & Manga Club (which he helped found), and The Minecraft Club.
What I like most about Minnesota Connections Academy are the field trips and meeting new friends.
