Juliet
Elementary School Student
Juliet is a fourth grader at Minnesota Connections Academy. She attends alongside her brother, Lucas, a middle school student. Outside of school she enjoys gymnastics, art, playing pretend, Minecraft mods, and hanging out with friends and family. Says Juliet, “They all work around my school schedule.”
Why Juliet’s Family Chose Our School
According to Juliet’s mom, the local school phased out distance learning “and we were looking for a way to keep the germs away from our home due to my job as a personal care attendant to someone bed-bound.
“[At Minnesota Connections Academy], Juliet is able to take classes that match her educational challenge level. At previous schools, she was ahead of other students with no options for advanced learning to keep her challenged and not bored.”
The Online School Experience at Minnesota Connections Academy
Juliet has a good relationship with her teachers and says, “I know I can reach out to them for help if I’m confused or need further help.” Her favorite subjects are gifted and talented, literature studies, science, and art. She’s a member of our school’s National Elementary Honor Society.
According to Juliet, her favorite experience at our school so far “has been meeting a classmate and friend for the first time in person at the Como Zoo and going to the science museum.”
What I like most about this school is the flexible schedule … I don't like to get up early, and if I'm extra tired, I can do my work later in the day after resting.
