Secondary Assistant Principal
Bachelor of Science, Education, University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (in progress); Master of Arts, K-12 Administration, Eastern Michigan University
Gina decided to become an educator because she wanted to help kids grow into being successful. She felt like there was a degree of understanding and camaraderie that she could bring to a school that would allow her to reach my students as people, not just as a number in my roster. She came to Connections Academy in 2020, after realizing how much virtual learning aligned with her personality and beliefs about learning.
The Benefits of K-12 Online Learning
So many of our students are here because they need something outside of the traditional classroom, whether it’s flexible scheduling or fewer distractions from other students in the classroom. I’ve met avid athletes at the top of their game, and students who absolutely thrive on 1-to-1 interactions, and with the partnership of teachers, students, and Learning Coaches, we’re able to meet the needs of those individuals.
The Online School Experience at Lighthouse Connections Academy
Some of our students are extremely gifted in arts or athletics, and they need to build their schedule around practices, performances, and competition schedules. At Lighthouse Connections Academy, students don’t have to worry about choosing between going to school and pursuing what works best for them as an individual.
Our world is changing faster than ever, and the success of our students is going to come from their ability to adapt to their environment, motivate from within, and be productive in a digital world. Lighthouse Connections Academy provides exactly that, with the support of caring teachers who take the time to help students develop skills like self-advocacy, time management, and goal setting in addition to academic needs.
At Lighthouse Connections Academy, students don’t have to worry about choosing between going to school and pursuing what works best for them as an individual.
