What students are eligible to participate in Kansas Connections Academy?

Kansas Connections Academy serves students throughout the state in grades K–12. See the Eligibility section of the web site for full details.

What technology is provided to Kansas Connections Academy students?

Kansas Connections Academy households will need to provide their own computer and Internet service. Please check to be sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements.

Are physical textbooks provided to KCA students?

KCA students in grades K–8 receive physical textbooks, and online textbooks. KCA students in grades 9–12 receive online textbooks. Hard copies of textbooks are available for purchase.

Does Kansas Connections Academy provide services and accommodations for students with disabilities?

Kansas Connections Academy will assemble an IEP team and convene an IEP meeting, including the parents of the student, to determine whether a re-evaluation is needed, what special education and related services the student needs to be successful in a virtual environment, and what other options might be available to the student.

How does Kansas Connections Academy support students with disabilities?

Federal law requires Kansas Connections Academy to provide its students, regardless of disability, with an equal opportunity to participate in and benefit from the school’s education program. Kansas Connections Academy is committed to providing its students with equal access to its education program. We provide students with accessibility through resources tailored to each student’s individual abilities and needs, including assistive technologies and individualized support.
