Why I Became an Educator
I have always enjoyed working with children and teenagers. While in college, I had the opportunity to work with children overseas, which led me to change my major to education.
The Online School Experience
I love my colleagues here at Iowa Connections Academy. We have a fantastic team! I also enjoy the flexibility of the virtual learning environment. I feel that I get to know my families on a deeper level, rather than just my students.
The virtual education setting we offer at Iowa Connections Academy allows students opportunities to develop real-word skills such as independence, self-advocacy, and time management. A student’s desire to be here drives motivation and academic success. I foster student engagement by allowing student choice and relating curricular content to real-life applications and individual student interests. I urge students to interact in LiveLesson® sessions and attend social opportunities.
