Middle School Special Education Teacher
Master’s Degree, Teaching and Learning Special Education, Liberty University
Angela Banks is a middle school special education teacher who began her teaching career in 2005 . Ms. Banks joined Iowa Connections Academy in 2018 and believes the willingness of everyone to lend a helping hand at a moment’s notice is what makes the school community special.
Why I Became a Teacher
I chose to be a teacher, specifically a special education teacher, because reading was difficult for me in school. I understood how many kids felt when asked to read in front of the class or if they weren’t given enough time to read the passage to themselves before open discussion. I wanted to help kids feel confident in themselves and overcome some of the things that were hard for them.
