Iowa Connections Academy, the state’s leading tuition-free, online public school for students in grades K–12, celebrated the school’s more than 250 graduating seniors on May 17, 2025. The Class of 2025 gathered at CAM High School in Anita, alongside their school administrators, teachers, and family members for an in-person ceremony that featured graduation speakers Iowa Connections Academy school leader Larry Hunt and high school principal Ally Derby.

Annelise Akers, graduating senior from Urbandale, agrees. “Choosing Iowa Connections Academy was one of the best decisions I made for my future,” she said. “I had the flexibility to work part-time while participating in student organizations like Art Club, Writers Oasis, FBLA, and Student Council. I built many strong friendships through the clubs and organizations at Iowa Connections Academy that made my high school experience unforgettable. I'm so thankful for the opportunities and support that helped shape who I am today.”
What’s Next for Our High School Graduates?
Among the graduating class, 40 percent plan to attend two- or four-year colleges or universities, 26 percent plan to enter the workforce, and 11 percent plan to pursue vocational training. Collectively, the graduates were awarded more than $400,000 in scholarship funds.

Iowa Connections Academy is a tuition-free, online public school that currently serves approximately 1,800 K–12 students. First opened in 2012 and operating in partnership with CAM Community School District, Iowa Connections Academy creates a high-quality educational experience and a curriculum that keeps students motivated and engaged in a safe, virtual learning environment.
