Life is not just about academics. Students socialize with other incredible students through online clubs, in-person activities, and field trips that connect peers and turn classmates into friends.

Bringing Students Together

Connecting with other students at school and in the local community is a big part of what makes Indiana Connections Career Academy so enriching. Students from as far afield as Evansville, Carmel, Fishers, Bloomington and Hammond will love all the opportunities they have to make new friends and explore their passions. In addition to meeting with their fellow students in LiveLesson® sessions and collaborating with them on school projects, your student can join many other activities.

Our virtual clubs for students include STEM events and give your student the chance to meet up with students with similar interests. When available, in-person field trips in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and South Bend and elsewhere bring students together for great learning experiences. And the more flexible schedule gives your student time to play sports, pursue art, volunteer or do anything else they enjoy in their community.

Field trips

Exploring the World Together

There is so much to see and do all over Indiana. And our voluntary field trips give your student a chance to experience these amazing places firsthand. From historical sites to zoos, museums, the great outdoors and so much more, your student can go on adventures alongside their fellow students, exploring, learning and having fun together.

Clubs & Activities

Doing What Excites Them Most

What does your student love? Computer coding? Writing poetry? Playing chess? Maybe they want to try their hand at journalism. Or take part in a scientific experiment. Whatever their passion—whatever new interest they want to explore—they’ll likely find an online club that feels made for them. Through our clubs, your student can build on the skills they’re learning in class while making new friends and gaining social confidence. Our clubs even offer opportunities to compete in contests at local, state and national levels. Clubs are a wonderful way for your student to learn, grow and enjoy school even more.

Designed to spark student creativity by exploring two-dimensional and three-dimensional art, photography, and graphic design through techniques and styles associated with each medium. Students have the opportunity to create original designs and artwork, share their artwork with peers, learn about appropriate critique guidelines, and provide feedback to other club members. .

Offers a unique opportunity to learn from chess experts and enjoy playing chess with other students in biweekly LiveLesson sessions. Club members are encouraged to enjoy friendly competition through the use of an online chess gaming system. All club members are invited to participate in chess tournaments throughout the year.

Allows students who have an affinity for technology and gaming to explore and discuss gaming styles and genres, learn about careers in the gaming and technology industry, and share their original work in LiveLesson sessions. Individual and collaborative projects may include creating elements of video games and investigating internet safety and cyberthreats.

eSports Club members participate in monthly LiveLesson® sessions to enjoy interactive lessons in the surprising history, impressive present, and exciting future of e-sports. Students have the opportunity to get involved in one of several Connections Academy eSports league tournaments throughout the year, where the featured game is Rocket League, in addition to learning about marketing, shoutcasting, and other roles related to eSports. Club members are not required to play the game.

Celebrating With Families

High school graduation is a big deal. And, at Indiana Connections Career Academy, we give it all the pomp and circumstance it deserves.

When your student graduates from our online high school in Indiana, they’ll gather with you and the rest of your family for a graduation ceremony. Caps and gowns and diplomas are all part of the day, giving your student the recognition they’ve earned before they move on to their next adventure, prepared to take on the world.

Connecting on the Local Level

Whether you live in one of the many small towns or big cities of Indiana, your local community is a part of who you are. And that makes it a part of who we are too. All across the state, our community coordinators, Learning Coaches and students come together to volunteer and participate in community events. It’s a great way to be a part of your local community and your online school community.

Parents, in particular, perform a very important role, as they often play the role of the Learning Coach, keeping the student on track and regularly communicating with teachers.
