Cortnaye Love is the Manager of Culture and Integrity and a chemistry teacher at Indiana Connections Academy. Ms. Love has been teaching since 2011 and holds a Master of Science degree in secondary science education from Purdue University. Ms. Love shares her story below.

Why I Became a Teacher

I decided to become a teacher because I have always had a deep passion for science. I figured that being a science teacher would allow me to share that love and hopefully spark an interest in new generations of students. I make it my goal each and every day to help students push through what is often considered a challenging subject, like chemistry, and see the fascinating real-world connection on the other side.

The Online School Experience at Indiana Connections Academy

I absolutely love working at Indiana Connections Academy because it gives me an opportunity to connect with students in a more individualized way. I can take the time to work with them on specific topics they are struggling with. I also get the chance to meet and get to know a wide variety of students with a variety of different backgrounds, lives, and beliefs from all over our state. I also appreciate that each and every day I can continue learning.

I make it my goal each and every day to help students push through what is often considered a challenging subject, like chemistry, and see the fascinating real-world connection on the other side.
