Mikayla
High School Student
Mikayla is a high school student at Indiana Connections Academy. She attended public school until sixth grade, and once she reached middle school, she decided to try online school instead. Mikayla found Indiana Connections Academy to be a perfect match as she loves the flexibility online school offers, but still wanted the presence of teachers and a structured learning environment.
About Mikayla
Attending Indiana Connections Academy for the last four years has given Mikayla the flexibility to travel and spend more time with her family. Mikayla also has more time for her extracurricular activities, including Girl Scouts and dance. She has been involved in dance for more than 13 years and has had the opportunity to perform at Disney World, Pacers games, and other venues throughout Indianapolis.
The Online School Experience
Mikayla noted that she has had many wonderful teachers at Indiana Connections Academy. "One, in particular, was my math teacher in 7th grade," Mikayla said. "She was so encouraging whenever I didn't understand a concept. I would meet with her via LiveLesson often, and she never once acted frustrated that I kept reaching out to her. I have had countless positive experiences with my teachers here, and they have helped me in so many ways."
Some of Mikayla's favorite memories with Indiana Connections Academy are field trips. "I have been on several field trips, and each time I have loved the experience," Mikayla said. "I am very grateful for such a positive learning environment."
