Mrs. Myers is the mother and Learning Coach of two daughters in eighth and tenth grades. The family moved here from the Philippines in 2023. According to Mrs. Myers, “Everything is new to us. For the girls, school here was going to be a whole lot different, especially with the language barrier and getting used to people.”

“This school was referred to me by a friend whose daughter attended. … I didn’t have much knowledge about online schools because we were so new to America. … Since we were new here, we wanted our girls to have a view of how the system works without having to go to school in person.

According to Mrs. Myers, Zia, in tenth grade, “is interested in arts and is doing Canva. … Her homeroom teacher, Ms. Shin, has been really happy with what she does. Zia was also happy with her work and asked Ms. Shin if she could share it with other students.
