Why I Love Teaching

“Throughout my earlier schooling, I was a peer tutor for special populations. I've always had a passion for helping others learn and achieve their goals. I decided to become a teacher to make a difference in the lives of children, help special populations, and ignite a passion for learning for all students.

I love teaching at Colorado Connections Academy because we support students and families who have not found success in traditional schooling or just want to have more involvement in their education. Teaching online allows me to use my background in technology and instruction in a flexible environment to meet the needs of everyone.

How I Engage Students Online

My LiveLesson® sessions are never boring and are all about engaging with the curriculum and each other. Students are encouraged to positively support each other and engage in discourse while using academic-rich vocabulary and their real-life experiences. We explore real life situations that utilize the course concepts in a way that facilitates curiosity, application, and independent learning.

Why I love Colorado Connections Academy:

Colorado Connections Academy prepares students for a bright and successful future by not only providing them with rigorous, college preparatory curriculum, but also opportunities to apply their learning to real life situations and explore their own ideas and applications.

“We explore real life situations that utilize the course concepts in a way that facilitates curiosity, application, and independent learning.”

Message Advice for New Learning Coaches

I always remind Learning Coaches that they’ve made the decision to take greater ownership of their child's education. Virtual school requires daily engagement from both students and parents as well as skills in technology, organization, motivation, studying, and time management that may need to be developed along the way.

My Interests

I love Gator football, any activity on the water, and sharing unique culinary experiences with friends and family.”
