Hannah Hurley is an elementary teacher at California Connections Academy. She has been teaching since 2011 and joined Connections Academy in 2015 as a kindergarten teacher. Ms Hurley earned her bachelor’s degree from William Jessup University. She shares more about her experience and love for teaching below:
“I became a teacher because I have always loved school. As a young child, I found myself pretending to teach my sister all that I had learned. My first job was as a gymnastics coach, and I found myself always wanting to adapt my instruction to fit the needs of my students. It was this idea of differentiation and seeing student success that encouraged me to pursue a teaching credential. Knowing that each student can have success in school and find their love of learning continues to be a motivation for me.
I love that California Connections Academy provides a different approach to learning. Students are able to get individualized instruction with their Learning Coach, and parents play an important role in their child’s success. I enjoy working with students and seeing them understand a concept. And building relationships with families who are a part of our school has been very rewarding.
California Connections Academy employs highly qualified teachers and passionate individuals who are dedicated to seeing students succeed. Teachers devote a lot of time and energy to their families and students, and the online environment is a safe place for making and learning from mistakes. Students are encouraged to be independent problem-solvers who thrive in and outside of school.
The whole school community is so helpful. There is always someone willing to support, listen to, and guide new families. California Connections Academy makes a great effort to see that families thrive in our school with events and creates new opportunities for families to stay connected.”
