A former homeschooler with three children, Dawn Craig, who lives with her family in San Ramon, California, wishes she had found California Connections Academy much sooner. Her son Ryker loves the school, and she is impressed with the teachers and administrators. She shares her story below:
“I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Connections Academy. I had been homeschooling my kids for nine years. I started looking into virtual school options because I was getting a little burnt out doing it all on my own. California Connections Academy was the only school I found that really drew me in. I was a bit nervous about making the change, not knowing how it would work out. I was fearful of losing control in the process of reducing my burden. I decided to take a leap of faith, however, knowing I could always go back to my old way if things didn’t work out. I am so glad I took that leap!
First and foremost, I love my sons’ teachers, as well as their principal. Whoever did the hiring for Connections Academy is really a great judge of character! Second of all, I don’t feel out of control, and I do have a great relief with regard to my responsibilities around lesson planning. Last, the topper is that my kids love Connections Academy. They have gone from a learning environment that included pretty much just me, them, and textbooks, to a virtual environment that includes teachers, LiveLesson® sessions, science projects, field trips, and so much more! I only wish I had found Connections Academy years ago!”
What I love about Connections Academy is that I can still school my children at home, but as a Learning Coach, I can be more of a mom than a teacher.
