Elsa Coddington is a kindergarten school teacher at Arkansas Connections Academy. Ms. Coddington joined our school in 2018 but has been teaching since 2006. She shares her story below:

Why I Became a Teacher

From the time I was a little girl in my imaginary classroom until I entered college, I knew I was supposed to be a teacher. I had many teachers who gave me lifelong friendships and memories. I struggled early on in my education, and there were very wonderful teachers who took the time to see me as an individual and help me learn. That has always been my goal: to connect with each one of my students to give them success.

The Online School Experience at Arkansas Connections Academy

Our school community is so special because we classroom members may be miles apart, but we are in each other’s lives daily. Online schools focus on the learning of the whole child. They place importance on individual students and their learning goals. The student is online and has his or her teacher’s undivided attention. In the twenty-first century, people have to navigate a virtual world. At Arkansas Connections Academy, students are prepared for this virtual world.

Message for Families Interested in Online School

Do it! It is the best decision that you will make for your child. The environment is the safety of your home, but the experiences are boundless. You can oversee your child’s education like never before.

I love the fact that I am able to do what I love most, and that is to teach children and watch them learn and grow.
