Wendy Nauman is an elementary school teacher at Arkansas Connections Academy (ARCA). Ms. Nauman started teaching in 2003 and became a part of the ARCA family in 2019. She received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University of Arkansas. Ms. Nauman shares her story below:
“I became a teacher because of my fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Minter,” said Ms. Nauman. “She was so kind. She always made me feel important and genuinely cared about me and my classmates. Mrs. Minter created my love for learning, and I knew I wanted to make other students feel the same way.
“I feel that the flexibility of online school allows students and teachers to feel more confident. It provides the opportunity to be more supportive and involved in our students’ lives. The ARCA school community is special because we are all in this together. We support, encourage, and challenge one another to be the best versions of ourselves.
“An education at ARCA will lead you down the path to becoming a lifelong learner. Your child will hopefully be more intrinsically motivated and take ownership over his or her learning. ARCA’s goal is to provide students with the tools and confidence to be successful. If I could give prospective parents one tip as they are making the decision to enroll, it would be to do it. The best thing to do is always the hardest thing to do. You know your child. Base your decisions on what is best for him or her, not what is easiest. I guarantee there will be someone to support you 100 percent of the way as you embark on this journey.”
Ms. Nauman has been married to her husband for over 10 years and they have two children. She is also a huge New York Mets and Pearl Jam fan. She loves spending time with her family and friends and can quote most comedy movies at the drop of a hat. Ms. Nauman is a lifelong learner, loves to read, and has a huge bank of random knowledge.
