Rebecca Stephens began her teaching career in the 2014–2015 school year and started at Arkansas Connections Academy (ARCA) in 2017. She graduated from Harding University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in middle level education. Ms. Stephens shares her teaching experience with ARCA below:
“My specialty subject areas are math and science. I also teach English. I became a teacher because I have a passion for helping children learn. Students come from many different backgrounds and walks of life, but regardless of where they come from, they can learn and grow and become the best version of themselves. I am so excited to be a teacher at ARCA and to assist students across the state of Arkansas in their educational journey.
The benefit of teaching at an online school versus a brick-and-mortar school is the personalization of the student’s learning. Online school allows for the opportunity to work with students and develop individualized lesson plans to help them succeed. An education at ARCA helps prepare students for a bright and successful future. Here at ARCA, they learn all the fundamentals needed to help them succeed, and they have the opportunity to work at their own pace, thus ensuring they do not miss key concepts that are crucial to their academic success.
This school community is so special because it consists of a group of passionate teachers throughout the state of Arkansas who have come together with the common goal of helping students succeed.”
