Lincoln Carlton

Lincoln Carlton is a high school English teacher at Arkansas Connections Academy (ARCA). Mr. Carlton started teaching in 2017 and joined ARCA in 2019. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English from Southern New Hampshire University. He shares his story below:

“I come from a family of teachers; teaching has always been my dream job, and now I get to live my dream every day. I’m looking forward to meeting students from many different places with different interests at ARCA. The benefit of teaching at an online school vs. a bricks-and-mortar is that I have the opportunity to reach a wider group of students and have a far-reaching impact that isn’t hindered by distance or time constraints,” he said.

“ARCA helps prepare students for a successful future, since in a connected world, aspects of almost every workplace are online now and life will only get more connected as time moves on. Learning accountability within this networked environment is key to success in the workplace. Each student has the opportunity to learn from his or her mistakes in a safe environment.

“If there was one thing I would tell a prospective parent as they are making a decision to enroll at ARCA, I’d say to take a look at the opportunities ARCA affords each student. There are avenues available to students that they may not have in their area.”

When he’s not teaching, Mr. Carlton enjoys movies, books, music, and sports (especially the Razorbacks). During his free time, he can be spotted helping his wife chase their two sons around and playing fetch with his corgi, Elvis.

If there was one thing I would tell a prospective parent as they are making a decision to enroll at ARCA, I’d say to take a look at the opportunities ARCA affords each student. There are avenues available to students that they may not have in their area.
