Laura Jordan

Laura Jordan is an elementary school teacher at Arkansas Connections Academy (ARCA). She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She started her teaching career in 2013 and began teaching at ARCA in 2016. Here is what she has to say about her teaching journey:

“I became a teacher because I think children are our world’s greatest treasure. They are our future. I have always wanted to make an impact on the world. I couldn’t think of a better thing to do in this world than to make an impact on children’s lives. I want to help my students become lifelong learners and make them question the world around them. In doing this, who knows what our children could make our world into?

At ARCA, I love that I am able to meet the individual needs of my students in a more effective way than at a traditional school. Our curriculum allows students to learn at their own pace and in more depth at their individual levels. We have a fabulous team of teachers whose primary goal is to make our students’ education the most impactful it can be, with students, families, and teachers working together. I truly believe that I have the best job in the world and that I work with the best team anyone could ever ask for.

ARCA, with its very rigorous curriculum, helps prepare students for a successful future. There are a lot of assignments woven into the lessons that require students to use higher-order thinking and apply the skills and content they have already learned. They are given a very well-rounded education in all areas, from science to art to math to technology.”

When asked what she could tell prospective parents as they are making the decision to enroll at ARCA, Ms. Jordan said, “We bring the best of two worlds, homeschool and traditional school, together in a virtual environment. We are public schooling at home. Our school allows you to have a greater impact on your child’s learning. Your student will be able to learn at his or her own pace and at his or her own depth.”

Ms. Jordan’s favorite hobbies are reading, singing, spending time with her family, and going on adventures.
