Wisconsin Connections Academy’s teachers and staff are dedicated to helping students reach their full potential, assisting with:

Helping students succeed

With a focus on student achievement and well-being, our staff is skilled at helping students address the personal, social, and academic issues that can affect their success in school and in life.

At WCA our counseling program is built on relationships, so our staff is readily accessible to students and families—online, in-person, and by phone. With the additional support from our national Connections Academy office and its collaborative network of school counselors across the US, WCA brings both individual attention and national expertise to our students and families.

Preparing students for college and career

Beyond their daily counseling and teaching activities, our staff offers services designed to help high school students prepare for college and career with:

  • Personal Learning Plans focusing on post-graduation goals.
  • Interactive, online, live lesson sessions connecting Connections Academy families across the country with real-time information on: financial aid and scholarships, college application processes, entrance requirements, and more.
  • College test preparation courses for the ACT examinations.
  • One-on-one counseling with seniors to provide resources and assistance with post-secondary planning, including: career options, vocational training, and selecting the right college.
Meet Eric Mueller

Eric Mueller is the School Counselor at Wisconsin Connections Academy (WCA). He joined the school in 2014. Mr. Mueller says, “I became an educator because I found that I loved the interacting with and seeing kids grow as future adults. As a school counselor, I enjoy that I get to contribute to all aspects of a student’s experience in school and their future goals!

I love getting to know each of the student’s unique stories and why WCA has provided the correct educational setting for their personal needs. I also enjoy the autonomy that the program allows our students and families.”

Education:

  • BS in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee
  • MS in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin—Whitewater
  • Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Wisconsin
Meet Jeff LeMahieu

Jeff LeMahieu, WCA Dean of Students Jeff LeMahieu, Dean of Students at
WCA, has been with the school since
the “doors opened” in 2002. While he continues to work with students of all ages, his main focus is the high school. Jeff works with students in choosing appropriate courses and setting goals
for life after high school. He is also the instructor for the High School ACT Prep course.

Jeff is a strong supporter of our students and online education, saying, “Working with our high school students is very exciting. I enjoy discussing post high school plans with our students, and ensuring that their course work aligns with their future goals.”
