Mia Hardy, Manager of Counseling Services, has joined Capistrano Connections Academy (CapoCA) and brings with her extensive school counseling experience at every level—elementary, middle, and high school, and postsecondary education—to her position. She holds a Master of Science degree in Educational Counseling and Guidance. In support of her degree, she holds a PPS credential, which allows her to counsel within the K–12 setting.
Ms. Hardy takes a proactive therapeutic approach in order to promote academic, social, and behavioral development among all students. She is an enthusiastic, dedicated, creative professional who is skilled at working with students of diverse backgrounds, including the underrepresented student populations—African American, Native American, and Hispanic/Latino—from elementary school through undergraduate school. She specializes in program planning and implementation, college readiness, and group counseling.
Ms. Hardy’s number one priority is to prepare all students to pursue a post-secondary education at any level by providing them with the necessary tools to ensure that this priority becomes a reality. She monitors each student’s individualized personal learning plan to promote student accountability and consistency through the process of achieving personal learning goals. “I have always been driven to educate our youth about unforeseen opportunities. My personal goal is to be resourceful for all students and educate them about the importance of pursuing post-secondary education and lifelong learning.”
