Welcome to Ohio Connections Academy
Ohio Connections Academy (OCA) provides a new form of public school that students can attend from home. This unique program combines
- the expertise and accountability of publicly funded education,
- strong parental involvement,
- and the flexibility of online classes.
Tuition-free Public School for Grades K–12
Connections Academy operates one school in Ohio under contract to the Ohio Connections Academy (OCA). OCA is a community school sponsored by the Ohio Council of Community Schools. The school serves students in grades K–12 from anywhere in Ohio.
Parents pay no tuition for students to attend OCA. Students are considered to be enrolled in a public school.
Parent Satisfaction
Each year we ask OCA families to rate our program. Our parents evaluate us on a number of criteria including student progress, teacher support, and quality of the curriculum.
This year, 93% of all Connections Academy parents surveyed gave our program high ratings. Check out the latest survey results to see how OCA parents surveyed felt about our program.
Materials Provided by the School
OCA provides
- Ohio-licensed teachers,
- textbooks and other curriculum materials,
- online resources, such as movies and encyclopedias,
- and a loaned computer, printer and subsidy for Internet service.
All materials, including the computer and reusable curriculum materials, must be returned if the student is no longer enrolled. Students are required to take all state mandated, standardized tests in person at locations designated by the school.
Annual Report
The annual report for the most recent school year is provided to OCA's sponsor, the Ohio Department of Education and other regulatory authorities, and all families enrolled at the time of its issuance. A copy is also available upon request. Please contact the school principal to receive a copy.
