She joined NCCA in 2015 and currently teaches history, psychology, and a Getting Started Orientation Course. Dr. Sharma shares more below.
“I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a kindergartener in Toronto, Ontario. I was inspired by my teacher who was caring and challenging. I held on to that dream throughout elementary, middle, and high school, as well as college until it was achieved!
I love so many things about working for NCCA, including the students and staff. If I had to narrow it down to just one thing, it would be because it is an innovative approach to teaching and learning that fulfills a community need. The benefit of teaching at online school is the daily interaction with families.
Successful students at NCCA have self-discipline, which is an important attribute to possess as one goes through life. The community is special because the teachers who I interact with are no less than inspiring—their dedication to students is admirable.”
Aside from her love of teaching, Dr. Sharma also enjoys traveling, yoga, and reading.
