In a typical MICA day, students may follow Jean Nicolet and Native American guides through the Straits of Mackinac in an award-winning textbook, chart the French explorer’s route to Lake Michigan with maps and compasses, and test their knowledge of Michigan’s geography in an interactive Teachlet® tutorial. Then they may discuss their “travels” online in a lively teacher-led LiveLesson® session. Later, when they meet for a class field trip to Fort Mackinac, students can connect to our state’s past and their MICA classmates.
