Elementary School Teacher

Laura Wells is an elementary teacher at Wyoming Connections Academy. She earned her bachelor’s degree in agricultural business from the University of Wyoming and her master’s of arts degree in teaching from Western Governors University. Mrs. Wells began her teaching career in 2016 at WYCA. She shares about her story below

Why I Became a Teacher

I was fortunate enough to stay home with all of my kids until my youngest child started kindergarten. Afterwards, I decided to go back to work in a school because I enjoy being around children. The atmosphere of the classroom and energy from students inspired me to go into teaching. I believe every student deserves an opportunity to grow and learn, and I genuinely care about my students.

The Online School Experience at Wyoming Connections Academy

Wyoming Connections Academy allows students to learn at a level that suits them and get the individualized instruction that they need to be successful. As an online teacher, I’m able to work with each student one-on-one and address his or her specific needs without the distractions that can arise in the traditional classroom setting. Wyoming Connections Academy also offers flexibility for families.

Message for Families Considering Online School

Virtual learning is an excellent option for some students. I would definitely encourage any prospective parents to research this rigorous program and make an invested decision about their child’s education. An education at Wyoming Connections Academy prepares students for a bright future by helping them take responsibility for their own learning. The school is a close-knit and friendly community. Our students share a common bond and can come together through in-person field trips.

My Interests

Outside of teaching, Mrs. Wells enjoys boating, skiing, watching her children play sports, and playing games with her family.
