Why I Became an Educator
“Becoming an educator has always been my calling, driven by a deep passion forworking with children and families,” says Ms. Lockhart. “From a young age, I knew I wanted to be part of a community where I could make a positive impact.
“Becoming a school counselor was the realization of that dream, offering me the chance to support students’ growth, help them navigate challenges, and foster a nurturing environment where they can thrive.”
The Online School Experience
Reports Ms. Lockhart, “I love our team and the hard work everyone accomplishes. … I also love the population of our students and how diverse they all are. Like any students, they love, and flourish from, relationships with their teachers and mentors.
“What makes our school special is that we’re all here for the same reason. We want every student to succeed, and it’s very rewarding to see them push themselves and excel beyond their expectations. … I’m honored to play a role in shaping our students’ futures.”
“Our staff is always trying to approach situations from a point of understanding and flexibility.”

My Interests
“I’m always interested and passionate about engaging in community events and being active in youth and school sports with my own kids, and staying connected to the people around me,” says Ms. Lockhart. “I love the outdoors and camping and being at the lake—those are at the top of my to-do list in the summer. Above all, I cherish spending quality time with friends and family, taking trips, or anything that creates memories and builds connections.”
