The Online School Experience at Utah Connections Academy
What interested me about UCA was the fact that I would be able to work at the pace that suited me best, instead of having the teacher go too slow or too fast. This school also works well for me because I do not have to sit and listen to the teacher explain key points to the same student multiple times. Now at UCA, I can move onto the next topic without waiting for my classmates. English is my favorite subject because I love to write essays about events or issues that spark an interest.
"What I like most about Utah Connection Academy is that it has helped me reach academic goals beyond what I thought I was capable of."

UCA is different is than bricks-and-mortar schools because there is a closer relationship between the teachers and students, which is good because it makes learning a lot more fun and interesting. I plan on going to college to study mechanical engineering so that I can design custom bikes and hotrods with my dad. UCA is helping me prepare for my future by teaching me to be more independent with my studies and to feel more confident with what I want to achieve in life.
Hobbies and Interests
Outside of school, I enjoy archery because it is a good way to relax. I also enjoy playing guitar; playing an instrument is a good way to take your mind off of everything else if things get too stressful and you need a quick break. I manage my hobbies and school very simply–school is always first and then whatever time is left is spent on hobbies. I have recently started with scouts, so a lot of the things that I do with friends are outdoors.
