"When my children were young, I volunteered at their school and really enjoyed seeing the interaction between the teachers and the students. It was that experience that led me to sign up to become a substitute teacher and fell in love with teaching.
South Carolina Connections Academy is an amazing school full of wonderful people. I love working here because I feel like I am a part of something big and important. The other teachers here are eager to pitch in and made me feel like I was a part of the South Carolina Connections Academy family from the very beginning.
"I love working at South Carolina Connections Academy because I feel like I am a part of something big and important."
— Ms. Martin
The students and families at South Carolina Connections Academy are also a big reason why I love working here. They are some of the most terrific individuals that I have ever encountered. The families are proactive and involved in their children's education and are incredibly supportive of our teachers. I also appreciate the ability to work from my home office, as it makes having a family so much easier.
At South Caroline Connections Academy there is more flexibility in how my day progresses than if I were working in a traditional brick-and-mortar school. I could not imagine working anywhere else!
The curriculum at South Carolina Connections Academy is rigorous and impactful. It prepares our students for problem solving and higher order thinking, which are important in a career and in life.
If you are considering enrolling your child in South Carolina Connections Academy just do it! You will not be disappointed with the decision. Being a part of South Carolina Connections Academy will allow you to be more involved with your child's education and will foster a deeper relationship between you and your child(ren). Don't let the change in the environment scare you. It will take you a little time to get acclimated to the virtual setting, but once you do, you will see how great South Carolina Connections Academy is for your student.
In my spare time, I like to enjoy the outdoors through camping, hiking, and taking walks. I have two puppies, Gizmo and Greta, who I am constantly chasing to get things out of their mouths that they should not chew up! I also have two 4-year-olds in my house, so that also makes life a lot more interesting!"
