"By the time my oldest child had reached second grade in a bricks-and-mortar classroom, he had developed nervous habits and felt overwhelmed with school and homework. The next year we made the choice to enroll him and his younger sister in Connections Academy. Their little brother joined them later as well.
Since enrolling at SCCA, my son has dropped his nervous habits and is much happier! My children are able to work at their own pace. I am aware of what they are learning, which allows me to incorporate newly learned material into our everyday lives.
My children still feel that they are part of a school community. They have made new friends by meeting other South Carolina Connections Academy children through field trips and at state testing. Their teachers are always willing to help. There have been many advantages of enrolling our children in Connections Academy, but for us, the best part is that our evenings are once again family time! What we do is no longer dictated by how much homework the children have, since they complete all their work during the school day.
