Pennwood Cyber Charter School Kicks Off The 2025-2026 School Year
On August 19th, 2025, Pennwood Cyber Charter School, an online public charter school serving K-12 students across Pennsylvania, recently began the 2025-26 school year. Pennwood Cyber Charter School offers the proven Connections Academy core model of virtual learning that has been successful for more than 20 years.
Serving more than 900 students statewide, Pennwood Cyber Charter School provides a high-quality educational experience that keeps students motivated and engaged with a strong circle of support and a deep sense of belonging. The school’s team of supportive and experienced educators, specially trained in online instruction, establishes meaningful connections with students, helping them achieve their full potential and reach their goals. Parents, guardians, and caregivers are involved in the learning journey as their child’s Learning Coach, while partnering with their child’s teachers, school counselor, and other dedicated educational staff. Parents and students have unlimited access to the Cook Center for Human Connection for additional counseling and mental health support.

Pennwood Cyber Charter School’s K-12 curriculum includes core courses and electives to cater to personal interests, alongside opportunities for social engagement through clubs, virtual and in-person activities, and interactive pop-up events with their peers and teachers.

Pennwood Cyber Charter School Parent Satisfaction Survey:
Students are returning to school shortly after the release of the 2025 Parent Satisfaction Survey, an annual third-party survey that provides families with the opportunity to review their experience with Pennwood Cyber Charter School. According to the 2025 Parent Satisfaction Survey results:
- 100% of Pennwood Cyber Charter School parents feel their child will be successful in their plans after high school
- 96% of parents believe their child is receiving a quality education with Pennwood Cyber Charter School
- 96% of parents agree that the Pennwood Cyber Charter School program gives them a greater opportunity to be more involved with their child's education
- 96% of parents say they feel supported by their Pennwood Cyber Charter School teachers and school staff
All K-12 students at Pennwood Cyber Charter School benefit from an enhanced curriculum with a unique extended three-week Connections Term (“C-Term”), an additional session to the standard 180 school days. During C-Term, high school students who are on track for graduation can participate in college preparatory courses, and engage in Project Based Learning initiatives, while K-8 students can explore career and college preparation based on the Pennsylvania Career Education and Work Standards.
Pennwood Cyber Charter School prepares students for the future through its range of college and career readiness offerings that integrate traditional academics with industry-leading career-focused programs. At Pennwood Cyber Charter School, students can earn a high school diploma while also having the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications and college credit simultaneously through the school’s dual-credit and tri-credit offerings. Of the school’s Class of 2025 graduates, 30 percent participated in course offerings with industry-leading partners like Drexel University’s Goodwin College of Professional Studies, Coursera, Home Depot, Credly, CAPS Network, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Enrollment for the 2025-26 school year is currently open for students in grades K-12. Families interested in enrollment are encouraged to attend an online information session to learn more about the personalized online learning experience.
Survey Methodology
Connections Academy conducts the annual Parent Satisfaction Survey to find out how parents, guardians and Learning Coaches grade the program in several key areas. The 2024-2025 School Year survey was conducted from January 15 to February 26, 2025 by Shapiro + Raj, an independent market research company that created the questionnaire, collected the data and tabulated the results. Parents and caretakers of all students enrolled at the time of the survey were invited to complete the survey online.
