Pennwood Cyber Charter School currently serves students in grades K-12. 

Pennwood Cyber Charter School is committed to providing a high-quality education that is personalized to meet a student’s individual needs. This level of personalization is not commonly available in traditional public bricks-and-mortar schools. Using our accessible technology, we connect parents, teachers, and students from home or anywhere there is Internet service.

Additionally, families benefit from unique flexibility in creating their schedule, something that typically isn’t possible in a traditional setting. Parents are also able to control their student’s learning environment, ensuring a safe and stimulating atmosphere.

Pennwood Cyber Charter School has unique programming and support that includes:

• A proven core model of virtual learning that has been successful for more than 20 years.
• A partnership with Drexel University's Goodwin College of Professional Studies to provide high school students with project-based learning opportunities designed to increase employment opportunities in high-demand careers and/orcollege readiness.
• A partnership with the Cook Center for Human Connection to provide students, families, and teachers with additional counseling and mental health support.
• An additional three weeks of instruction where students can earn Credly badges coordinated with the state’s Career Education and Work Standards and/or workon test preparation for upcoming state assessments.
• Extensive college and career course offerings for grades 6-12 that will combine traditional courses with industry-leading, career-focused options and access to partnerships like Coursera, Acadeum, Credly, and The Home Depot.

All students will participate in a required additional 3-week Connections Term (“C-Term” in March (in addition to the standard 180 days of school). During the C-Term:

Grades K-8: Participate in career and college prep projects based on thePennsylvania Career Education and Work Standards. There will also be anopporutnit for test prep for the upcoming state assessments.

Grades 9-12:

• All students will participate in test prep
• On-track students will participate in project-based learning through Drexel University's Goodwin College of Professional Studies
• Students needing to catch up will focus on remediation and credit recovery

• First-Class Curriculum: Our program features curriculum developed by leading educational publishers. Connections Academy families receive a combination of textbooks*, online textbooks, workbooks, comprehensive lesson plans, and exciting enrichment courses.
• Exceptional Teaching: Connections Academy’s professional teachers work one-on-one with students and their parents to instruct, review assignments, and customize the curriculum. Our teachers provide extra help for struggling or gifted students.
• State-of-the-Art Technology: Families receive online communication, planning, and learning management tools; online lessons and library resources; and technology literacy courses. Families may receive a computer and subsidy for Internet access**.
