Madalynn Sagapolutele is serious about both softball and her academics. The freshman helped the Willamette Connections Academy softball team win the Class 4A state championship for the first time in nearly 24 years. 

Madalynn says playing competitive sports can make it difficult to keep up with her schoolwork. “Sometimes I’d fall behind when I had larger assignments due. But the teachers here are awesome to work with and supportive, helping me get back on track in the most efficient way possible.”
