Family. It’s the building block of communities and an important part of helping children develop the character and resilience they need to thrive. That’s why our Military Support Team is so important. At Oklahoma Connections Academy, we make sure that military families receive the support needed to overcome their unique challenges. We welcome military families into our community with open arms. In fact, Oklahoma Connections Academy was named a Purple Star designated school by the Oklahoma State Department of Education in November 2023.
Additionally, our dedicated team can connect your student to an Anchored4Life Team Lead or Student Rep to help your student transition to our school.

Military Support Resources
Military Support Team liaisons have developed a comprehensive catalog of resources to support the unique needs of Oklahoma Connections Academy military families. Here is a sampling of the many resources we have available:
Education Resources
- National Military Family Association—Explanation of the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children, which defines rights of military families when enrolling in new schools.
- Military Child Education Coalition—Webinars, trainings, and consultations for families transitioning to new schools, specifically families who have students with special needs.
- Tutor.com for U.S. Military Families—Free tutoring services for students of active military families.
Family Resources
- United through Reading—Connects families separated by deployment by arranging for parents to read books aloud to their children.
- Anchored4Life Clubs—Peer-to-peer clubs that provide opportunities for peers to enhance social skills, learn leadership skills, build character, improve self-esteem, and integrate into their community.
Postgraduation Prep Resources
- March2Success—Online program developed to help students prepare for standardized tests, military entrance exams, and a variety of other exams.
- eKnowledge™ ACT/SAT Prep—Online ACT/SAT preparation program available on any internet-enabled device.
Scholarship and Grant Resources
- Fisher House Foundation Scholarships for Military Children Program—An organization that awards scholarships and grants to children of military service members.
- Our Military Kids Inc.—Nonprofit organization that provides grants to children of deployed or recovering service members, so that they can participate in extracurricular activities that may not otherwise be affordable.
