“I became a teacher because of how much I love reading and language arts. I wanted to get students excited about language arts and to enjoy it as much as I do.
As an online teacher, I am able to give my students more individualized attention and help with their assignments. At the middle school level, students may exhibit a variety of different learning skills. Being an online teacher allows me to better help these students by giving each one the additional help that he or she needs. The students are much more engaged online and can learn so much more in a virtual setting.
Also, I am able to offer many resources in my LiveLesson® sessions to help students understand different topics. Working at OCA allows me to become familiar with many online resources that I might not have been able to access before.
Another great part of working in an online setting is the excellent communication I have with my students’ parents. I am frequently contacting families to make sure that there is regular communication and that everyone understands the tasks that need to be completed each day. The thing I like most about this program is the organization. This program forces all teachers to be organized, accountable, and ready to work their hardest to help develop the student’s knowledge. I would tell a prospective family that parent involvement is the key to students’ success. Teachers are regularly available for students and families to contact. Make sure to take advantage of all of the resources that are available in this school setting.”
I really enjoy giving my students individualized attention. I also enjoy getting to know the students as well as their families so that I can best help them with their lessons.
