A Distinguished Career

Marcia Berkowitz is an experienced and accomplished educator, currently serving as the Interim Director of Special Education at The Educational Cooperative Connections Academy.

Her professional experience began as a teacher in a traditional brick-and-mortar school. Ms. Berkowitz then held a number of administrative positions within local school districts, and has served as both Director of Special Education and Executive Director at an area collaborative. Across her many roles, her focus has always been on students, their individual needs, and the support that each of them needs to be successful.

Ms. Berkowitz holds professional licensure as principal / assistant principal, special education administrator, and school social worker / school adjustment counselor.

An Active Retirement

Since retirement, Ms. Berkowitz has remained active both professionally and personally. She has held a number of interim administrative roles, helping schools when an unexpected or temporary vacancy has arisen. In her free time, Ms. Berkowitz enjoys reading and exercising, as well as spending as much time with her family as possible.
