The Benefits of K-12 Online Learning

I adore working with students at TEC Connections Academy Commonwealth Virtual School and helping them accomplish new things. The aha moment is what truly drives me. I believe that all children can learn. The overarching benefit of our virtual public school is the flexibility of time. For most of the week, students and families are empowered to engage in learning when they are ready and prepared.

The Online School Experience

I believe an education at TEC Connections Academy Commonwealth Virtual School helps prepare students for their future with an increased understanding of the importance of personal time management in our ever-evolving world. With a curriculum that has an instructional design aligned to state and Common Core standards, students learn how to manage their priorities—both school and personal—and communicate effectively and appropriately via the computer. The frequent one-to-one teacher contact allows students to develop self-advocating skills at an early age, while enabling teachers to personalize individual learning experiences, as appropriate. Additionally, the growth-mindset philosophy that our school embraces helps students gain a deeper understanding of their own learning needs and the importance of grit and resilience in life.

Hobbies and Interests

When I’m not teaching or volunteering in my community, I enjoy the beauty and diversity of New England. In the warmer months, I love tending to my flower garden. In the colder months, you can find me hitting the slopes.

I adore working with students at TECCA and helping them accomplish new things.
