“Excellent Customer Service”

Ms. Pauley joined the faculty at Iowa Connections Academy in 2022 and brings nearly 20 years of experience as a professional educator. Her career path actually traces back to high school, where she occasionally worked as a substitute teacher. “I fell hard for education,” she says. “I cannot imagine doing anything else.”

As with many of the school’s faculty members, she is passionate about her job. The way she articulates that passion, however, is unique—and telling: “The most rewarding part of my job is providing excellent customer service,” she says. That means “supporting families” and “fostering positive relationships” with students in a way that works best for them.

“Their Voices Are Heard”

Ms. Pauley spent many years working in traditional school environments. She appreciates the advantages that online education can provide. At Iowa Connections Academy, both students and families “have support that brick-and-mortar does not [offer],” she says, in particular the “one-on-one sessions” that are so valuable for her as an advisor.

“Our teachers will wrap their students in support,” she explains.

Outside of school, Ms. Pauley is just as busy. She is an active mom for her two kids, taking them hiking and camping as much as possible. She enjoys “shopping at World Market” and somehow still finds time for her own creative interests such as painting. Like every busy person, she recognizes the need to recharge: sometimes the most important activity, she says, is just “chilling at home.”

Our teachers will wrap their students in support.
