High school students complete a career-focused program of study while working towards graduation, thereby increasing the skills they can apply to the real world.

Helping Indiana Students Succeed in the Workforce
Career exploration and readiness are the cornerstones of Indiana Connections Career Academy. By engaging in career education LiveLesson® sessions, completing career-facing activities, and demonstrating employability skills, students will earn badges, gain elective credits, and be better prepared for life after high school.
Career Badges
Students have the opportunity to earn badges throughout the course of a semester through their work at Indiana Connections Career Academy and within their communities. Grades are based on the number of badge points earned per semester.
The career badge categories listed below are recognized by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development as essential skills to possess in the workplace in order to achieve success:

WORK-BASED LEARNING
Real-World Skill Development
Students can apply the learned concepts, skills, and dispositions in real world businesses and industry settings. A standards-based training plan is developed by the student, teacher, and workplace mentor to guide the student’s work-based learning experiences and assist in evaluating achievement and performance.
