Indiana Connections Academy Graduates Earn More Than $500k in Scholarship Awards
Online school for grades K-12 celebrates more than 700 graduates during in-person commencement ceremony
INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Connections Academy, a tuition-free full-time public virtual school, recently graduated more than 700 students as part of the Class of 2024, a diverse and accomplished group of graduates who collectively earned more than half a million dollars in scholarships and awards. Students attending the full-time online public virtual school gathered from across the state for an in-person ceremony with family, friends and teachers to celebrate student achievements.
“At Indiana Connections Academy, we celebrate our high school graduates with immense pride,” said Kelly Simone, executive director of Indiana Connections Academy. “Watching our students walk across the stage symbolizes not only their academic achievements but also their personal growth and resilience. We are honored to have been a part of their educational journey and look forward to seeing all they will accomplish in the future.”
Among the graduating class, 50 percent plan to attend two- or four-year colleges or universities. Additional graduates have plans to enter the workforce directly upon graduation (36 percent), attend vocational training programs (10 percent), join the military (two percent) or take a gap year (two percent).
Standout seniors who walked across the stage include:
- Luke Forester of Noblesville, Ind. — Class of 2024 valedictorian
- Bella Sitko of Lake Station, Ind. — Class of 2024 salutatorian
- Alivia Perkins of Fort Wayne, Ind. — received a full-ride athletic scholarship to the University of Nebraska
- Kaitlyn Whitt of Demotte, Ind. — recipient of the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship to Ball State University
For more than a decade, Indiana Connections Academy has served thousands of students with a variety of needs. Students complete rigorous schoolwork in the comfort of their homes with virtual instruction and support from state-certified teachers.
