About Georgia Connections Academy’s Grade K–12 Programs

Through a unique combination of core courses and electives, as well as College and Career Readiness offerings for older students, our online school in Georgia empowers children to find their own path—wherever life takes them.
How Does Online School Work?
Depending on their grade level and how long it takes them to master concepts and material, students spend between approximately 25–30 hours per week learning and growing. Their online learning experience includes a unique mix of independent work in our dedicated online learning portal and regularly scheduled LiveLesson® sessions with peers and their teachers. The ratio of time spent between online learning and independent offline work also varies based on grade level.
In addition, Georgia Connections Academy students have the unique opportunity to spend quality time with their Learning Coach, a role typically filled by a parent or caregiver who supports their child’s learning throughout the school day.
Through this approach, students can learn where and when works best for them—while benefiting from a strong circle of support that includes their peers, families, and talented educators.
ONLINE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
By taking courses from language arts and mathematics to technology and science, elementary school students gain a solid educational foundation and explore their newfound interests through courses like Spanish and music.
ONLINE MIDDLE SCHOOL
Middle school students gain a solid foundation through core courses and take electives that match their unique interests like foreign languages, music, art, and more.
ONLINE HIGH SCHOOL
High school students further their traditional education through core courses, as well as take electives, college prep, and career-readiness courses that match their unique interests and goals.
Accredited and Experienced
When your child enrolls Georgia Connections Academy, they’ll be attending an accredited public school where they can meet all the Georgia educational and high school graduation requirements.
Georgia Connections Academy is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), an accrediting division of Cognia, formerly AdvancED.
The Georgia Connections Academy STEAM Academy is the first virtual Cognia Certified STEAM program in the United States. High school students enrolled in the Georgia Connections Academy STEAM program experience a curriculum designed to engage their creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, all essential attributes for success in STEAM-related fields.
For student-athletes interested in participating in collegiate athletics, many of our classes have been approved by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
