Ashley Parker

GACA teacher Ms Parker

Ms. Parker is a high school math teacher at Georgia Connections Academy (GACA). She started teaching in 2005 and joined GACA in 2013. She holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary mathematics education from Appalachian State University.

When asked why she loves being a teacher at GACA, Ms. Parker said:

“I love teaching at GACA because I feel like I really get to customize a student’s education to fit his or her learning style. In a bricks-and-mortar school, a teacher has to deal with many behavioral issues that take away from the instruction and learning process. In the virtual world, I really get to focus on providing quality instruction to my students, without all of the distractions.

A virtual learning environment is very different from a bricks-and-mortar environment. Your child will have the opportunity to learn in the way that best fits his or her style. It will teach your child to become a more independent learner, which is very important in higher education and the career world.”

In the virtual world, I really get to focus on providing quality instruction to my students, without all of the distractions.
