Anne Morgan

GACA teacher Ms Trippy

Ms. Morgan is a health and physical education teacher at Georgia Connections Academy (GACA). Ms. Morgan has been teaching since 2005, and joined the staff at GACA in 2011. She holds a bachelor’s of science degree from North Georgia College and State University. When asked about her experiences at GACA thus far, Ms. Morgan said:

"I decided to become a teacher because I had a science teacher that impacted me deeply and mentored me outside of my one class with her. She was the very best science teacher, but she taught me more than just science. She believed in me, cared about me, and challenged me to be more. I had always wanted to be an influential person and after watching this teacher's impact on me, I knew I wanted to influence kids in this way as well.

I love teaching at GACA because of the online environment. I believe that I've been given a gift in communication and I love to empower people through my words. The online platform gives me a great opportunity to do that.

If I had the chance to communicate to a prospective family of GACA, I would tell the parent that we personalize education. We offer so much more than just expert knowledge on the school subjects. We offer a family-style experience in education, support, innovation, and "one-on one" instruction! The benefit that I see in an online environment is that the individual families are much more involved. I feel that it is so important to have parental support. I have seen how an authority figure can influence a child to ‘want to’ learn in school."
