Kathryn Wise

Physical Education Teacher

BA, Communicative Disorders, University of Central Florida

Coach Kathryn Wise is a physical education teacher at Florida Connections Academy (FCA). She has been a teacher for over 16 years and obtained a bachelor of science in communicative disorders from the University of Central Florida.

Coach Wise started her career as a speech language pathologist in a brick-and-mortar setting, then changed directions to work with special education students teaching math and co-teaching science and social studies. She enjoyed her time in a brick-and-mortar school, however, she was excited to try something new and teach in an online environment.

I became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children.

— Coach Wise

In 2008, she started her career with Florida Connections Academy and has held numerous positions. She has been an advisory teacher and has taught math and world history. She is currently teaching physical education. She also runs field trips, Learning Coach/caretaker coordination, and the National Junior Honor Society programs at FCA.

When asked why she wants to be a teacher, Coach Wise said, “I became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children. I have enjoyed being able to work with all grade levels, from kindergarten to grade nine.”
